Eligbility

  • Applicants must identify as a woman.
  • Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • Applicants must begin their program on or before September 30, 2027.
  • Applicants must be completing their first doctoral degree.
  • Applicants must be enrolled at an institution: 1. Recognized as accredited by the US Department of Education, or 2. An international institution recognized as eligible to participate in U.S. federal student aid programs, as listed on the Federal Student Aid Participating Schools list.

The award is structured to free the time of junior faculty who have passed their midpoint tenure review—including those from underrepresented groups and others committed to eradicating disparities in their fields—so that they can both engage in and build support for systems, networks, and affinity groups that make their fields and campuses more inclusive.

  • Assistant professors in tenure-track appointments

  • Passed the standard third-year review by January 31

  • Cannot be eligible for tenure during appointment year
